Nominations for The 54th Annual Drama Desk Awards will be announced on Monday, April 27, 2009, at 9:45 AM at the New York Friars Club, 57 East 55th Street, in Manhattan. Award winning actors Faith Prince, currently starring in The Little Mermaid on Broadway, and Jim Dale, will make the announcements. Other speakers include William Wolf, President of the Drama Desk; Robert R. Blume, Executive Producer of the Drama Desk Awards; Barbara Siegel, chairperson of the Drama Desk Nominating Committee and Randie Levine-Miller, Director of Special Events for the Drama Desk, who annually produces the nominations announcement ceremony at the NY Friars Club. A continental breakfast will be served at 9 AM.

The Official Cocktail Reception for Nominees will take place on Friday, May 1, 4 - 6:30 PM, at IL Bastardo Ristorante, 191 Seventh Avenue, between 21st and 22nd Streets. Note: This is a change from past years. Arte Café has been renovated and is not available this year. IL Bastardo has the same ownership and we will be treated just as royally as in the past.)
The 54th Annual Drama Desk Awards, hosted by Harvey Fierstein, will be held Sunday, May 17, at 9:00 PM in the F.H. LaGuardia Concert Hall at Lincoln Center.
For the seventh consecutive year, the Awards Ceremony will be webcast live by TheaterMania (www.theatermania.com )
